Piper sighed in relief, at least that part was out of the way. She sat up, letting her legs hang over the side of the bed. She quietly picked up the plate and put a piece of bacon in her mouth. An explosion of salty, savory flavor was now in her mouth. She chewed on it slowly, really wishing she’d tried food before.
“Thank you,” she said quietly.
She really wanted to ask if bacon tasted that good to him as well, but she kept her mouth shut. She picked up a small morsel of eggs and ate it as well. She decided it was good, but not as good. She listened to his question and was quiet for a second.
“I kept my word, I said I’d give it back,” she said, “I’m not sure how the watch works, to be honest.”
She kind of figured it was useless without the dagger anyway. She’d made up her mind to keep her word about the dagger.
“Plus… I have a proposition to make,” she said, really quietly.

Dante slotted together his other pistol and holstered it before sliding his dagger in front of him, he looked at it for a moment before picking it up. He took to his usual habit of chipping away at the desk with the tip of the dagger, he was actually surprised the table stayed together considering the action it saw last night.
"A proposition?" asked Dante as he glanced at her, she was sitting in his bed eating bacon. He had to admit she did look a bit cute curled up in those blankets. He smiled slightly as he thought about what this proposition could be, he knew it definitely involved souls but that was about it. He took another puff of his cigar and let at a yawn, maybe it was too early for this.

Piper bit her lip. He was a hell of a lot more intimidating with a pair of guns and a knife. She had barely scraped by living last night, now she had a dangerous man to handle. Normally it wouldn’t have been an issue, but she didn’t have him in her seducing clutches now. She put down the piece of bacon she was chewing on and set the plate gently back down on the table.
“Well… yes,” she began.
She thought about what she was going to say for a second. She thought she had it all planned out, but now the thought of going through with what she thought made her nervous. It was one thing to trick men into souls; it was a whole different thing to make a deal with one for souls in exchange for sex. It would be a lot easier, she thought wryly, if he were an ugly man who was trying to kill her! She suddenly thought that it might not be enough to just offer sex. But what else did she have?
“Well… I need souls. Or I die,” she said honestly, “I’m willing to trade for them.”
She left it open, letting him draw the conclusions. It felt easier that way. She couldn’t remember what it was like when she was a virgin, but she suspected it felt a lot like right now.

Dante stood up and stretched his arms before walking over to his wash basin, he splashed some water on his face and shivered slightly due to the cold temperature. She wanted to trade souls for something, it was obvious she didn't want to suggest what the trade was for though, unluckily for her Dante was keeping his cards to his chest.
"I would have to say it wouldn't be the first time I've made a deal with a demon" he replied as he grabbed a towel from next to the basin and dried his face, "its only a matter of time before Conall gets wind of my doings... then he'll either banish me, or try to kill me".
Dante had an idea of what Piper was going to suggest, but he was now thinking with a sober mind. He needed an alley more than anything, but a few perks here and there wouldn't be too bad.

She watched him move over to the basin and wash his face. Piper had no idea who Conall was, but she assumed he was over Dante. She stood up from the bed and moved over toward him. She put her hands on his back, being gentle. This was a little different than what she was trying to do yesterday. It made her nervous, quite a bit nervous.
“I mean, I don’t have much. If you didn’t want to make that deal, I could understand,” she said in a hushed voice.
She thought of how little she really could do. She wasn’t strong, she couldn’t protect him. She wasn’t powerful, she couldn’t help him. She was a little smarter than most succubae, but probably not as smart he, at least when sober. She really only had one talent. She supposed she could cook and clean, but it seemed like they provided that enough here already.
“If you…,” she began, but her words faltered, “If you don’t want me around, I’ll just go away.”
She moved her body closer to him. This wasn’t going at all like she imagined.

Dante lowered his head, how could a demon of all things make him feel this way, it had no logic in anyway. He was a vulgar murderer when it can down to it, yet she seemed to want to stay. The souls played their role in things but surely if that's all she was here for she would have taken the dagger and be done with it.... there was something else.
"no I.... " he paused for a moment and glanced over his shoulder, "stay... you could prove to be useful". Obviously that wasn't what he wanted to say, he wanted to tell her that he didn't know why he wanted her to stay, he wanted to tell her that for some reason he'd like her to stay. But for his prides sake he had to say what he did, after all, when you've sold your soul what else do you have to barter with.

Piper put her forehead against his back. She’d be a tool for him, which was alright with her. His hesitance tugged at her heartstrings, which was strange, too. She had to find out why she was suddenly experiencing these things. It made her even more nervous than she already was. She wrapped her arms around his waist.
“Thanks,” she said.
She was a little confused; he wasn’t all over her like he was the night before. They hadn’t even gotten very far. Well, as the saying goes, alcohol turns men into dogs, she thought. She didn’t really care; when men made advances, she at least knew what to do. Speaking of which, something was bothering her.
“I… I don’t want to kill you if we…,” she trailed off, “You might need to get protection.”
Who ever heard of a succubus using condoms? For that matter, who ever heard of a succubus making deals with demon hunters and planning on being monogamous? This was a lot for Piper to fathom, but it felt good.

Dante placed one of his hands on her, then suddenly he realized what she was talking about, he stifled the first laugh but the second escaped. He spun round to look at her with a smile oh his face, she was referring to him losing his soul to her, well she was about to get a shock.
"I don't have a soul" he said as he looked at her.
He thought a succubus would be able to tell if a man had a soul or not, then again not every single detail was listed in the books about demonology. In all his years of hunting demons and collecting souls he would have never though he would be standing here holding the hand of a succubus.

Piper looked up at Dante. She had accidentally made herself kind of short, so it was a long way up. She didn’t understand why he was laughing for a second. Her cheeks reddened a little bit, that meant that trying to steal his soul yesterday was pretty pointless.
“Oh… well, that’s one less thing to worry about, “she said sheepishly.
She had no idea, how many men did you see walking around with no souls! Succubae couldn’t tell, simply because it didn’t come up much. That also explained the presence of the dagger and pocket watch; he used them to stay alive. That was also probably what he meant when he already made a deal with a demon. She bit her lip and squeezed his hand a little.
“I’ll do my best then,” she said with a small nod, “I’ll be as useful as I can be, boss.”
She smiled a little. She didn’t even remember why she was so nervous about him killing her, he was being pretty nice. She did know that she’d never had to stick around and talk to anyone after she did her ‘job,’ especially not with anyone attractive…
