Natalie needed to talk to Lilith about this girl. She was horribly bratty and terribly prideful. Really, it was a good thing Renee couldn't use magic, because she would get torn apart by pride demons right away. And like someone guilty of pride, she would probably think she could handle it.
Of course, Natalie was sure that Renee would fit in right alongside the mages of the Order.
Well, whatever. It was no time to think about the Order of Eradicto Pravus right now. She had to speak with Lilith about this girl. She wasn't sure what Lilith had been thinking, bringing a human to Hell, and especially her. Natalie wasn't even sure Renee could help the cause right now as she was. She was just an annoying little brat, and Natalie thought that she was far better as food than as a fighter.
Hopefully Lilith had some sort of plan for the girl.

Lilith had been sitting in her drawing room, quite contentedly having a one sided conversation with Samael. She was sitting at an easel, drawing something with a piece of charcoal. She sat perched on a stool, her posture perfect as she sketched across the paper she had set up. She looked up as Natalie entered the room.
“Natalie!” she said, like she had been gone a very long time.
She stood up from her stool, as did Samael. It was then she noticed the negative emotion coming from Natalie. It was concerned and maybe a little annoyed.
“Natalie is there something the matter?” she asked before she came over to embrace the woman, “How did your time with Renee go?”
It couldn’t have been good, based on her emotions, which concerned Lilith greatly. She pulled away from Natalie and put her hands on her shoulders, looking into Natalie’s eyes, trying to seek out more of an emotion from her.

Natalie returned the embrace- Lilith was perhaps the only person she would do that for- And frowned. "She's far too prideful," she said. Oh, sure, it wasn't like Natalie hadn't been guilty of greed when alive and perhaps she still had traces of that, but almost having to face the eternal punishment for greed was enough to make her try to avoid it. Of course, Renee didn't know and probably thought she could easily avoid the punishment for pride.
"Truthfully, she would get ripped apart within seconds," Natalie said. She had been going easy on Renee, actually. Had she fought normally, she probably would have seriously injured the girl, and then Lilith would get irritated, and Natalie didn't want that. "I'm not even sure if it's physically possible for a living human to survive long here. ." she trailed off, and shrugged. "She seems to like you, though, if that means anything."

Lilith was happy to see that Natalie wasn’t in such a bad mood as to not return pleasantries.
“Please, take a seat on the sofa,” she said, offering the plush white couch.
She returned to her stool and picked up her piece of charcoal, very intent on listening, but not to completely forget her project.
“Prideful?” she said, “I’m not terribly surprised, considering how stubborn she is.”
She thoughtfully listened to everything else Natalie had to say. If Renee were to die, that wasn’t a good thing for her plans.
“We’ll have to protect her,” she said, “I’m sorry, I know how much that bothers you, but it’s for the cause.”
She thought about her next answer before she spoke, “She has to stay mortal, no matter what. It might be tempting to make her one of us, but she has to have her mortal soul with her, and her body.”
She cocked her head to one side when Natalie said Renee liked her, “Do you think? Good, that will make things easier in the long run, I hope.”

Natalie sat down on the sofa. Well, it was comfortable. She wondered what Lilith was working on, but decided that reporting what had happened was more important. After all, business before pleasure was the old saying.
Natalie nodded. "She insisted that everything I did was simply because she let me," she explained. "Or that it wasn't that bad. I was just holding back, really." Natalie shrugged again and frowned.
Natalie's frown deepened. She didn't know why this girl was so important, but oh well. Lilith wanted to keep her safe, and so Natalie realized that that was what she had to do. "She will be averse to the idea of being protected, you know," she pointed out. Natalie wondered why she had to keep her mortal soul and body as well. Oh well, again, it didn't matter. She would keep Renee safe.
"Yes, even if she is too prideful to admit to liking anyone," Natalie commented. Her voice had an edge to it.

Lilith scratched out a few lines into her drawing and listened carefully to Natalie. She had the skills to be a good listener and this was one of the times it was necessary. She was terribly grateful for Natalie and trusted her completely. She also appreciated that she knew about Lilith’s empathetic ability and didn’t try to mask her feelings, still.
“That’s not good,” she said, crossing one arm across her waist and tapping her chin with the other, “I appreciate you holding back, though. She might be harder to work with than I thought.”
That wasn’t very useful to her, but Renee was the only truly ‘living’ thing in hell right now and that meant lots of things.
“I’m aware,” she said about her being protected, “She has no idea where she is, I almost want her to eat a little humble pie. It’s more useful to me, but I don’t want to hurt the girl.”
She frowned at Natalie in a defeated expression, “What’s your advice, Natalie?”

Natalie nodded. "Thank you," she said. Well, she was glad Lilith understood that Renee was hard to work with, but that was to be expected. Lilith was, after all, an empath. She could understand Natalie's feelings, which Natalie knew, and so she didn't bother trying to hide them. She had been part of Lilith's court for almost 200 years, one tended to pick things up in 200 years.
Natalie had a thoughtful expression on her face when Lilith asked for her opinion. "Well," she began. "Is there any way that we can get her to understand where she is and why she needs to be protected without actually harming her?" Natalie thought that a week in Lucifer's circle of Hell might cause Renee to re-evaluate herself, but that might psychologically damage the girl so that she was no longer useful, and that was not what Natalie nor Lilith wanted. No, there had to be a better way.

Lilith had seen people come and go, so she was glad for someone that stayed here with her and understood her a tiny bit. Two hundred years was a long time, after all. Lilith sketched out a few more lines on her charcoal drawing.
“I’m thinking we need to take her to the judgment gate,” she said, “To see what happens to mortals here. Well, they’re mortal souls, but you get the point. I don’t want her to get eaten or torn apart, but maybe we can scare her straight, as they say?”
Lilith didn’t want to damage the girl for sentimental reasons as well. If she had a living tool, she didn’t want to abuse it, she wanted it to thrive and want to be a useful instrument, not be used forcibly.
“Unless that’s too frightening,” she said, glancing at Samael who was impassive, “Where are the tamest parts of hell, do you think, Natalie?”

Natalie nodded. "Maybe we could show that to her after some of the more. . Ah, tame parts of Hell. It might be a bit of a shock, especially if she were to see anyone guilty of pride," she suggested. Tame meant 'relatively not bad,' and there weren't many tame places in Hell. Natalie could think of a few, however. Going by the 'relatively not bad' definition, of course.
"Well, there's always purgatory. Seeing people being purged with flames might be bad enough," Natalie offered. Then again, Renee might think she was destined to go there. The way she acted, Natalie doubted it. Purgatory was harder to get into than Hell, and Renee was very guilty of her sin. "Maybe the upper levels of Hell, but I don't think the Lords of Sin knowing about her is in our best interest," she said. Natalie shrugged. Renee doing anything stupid, especially around the Lords of Sin, could prove disastrous for Lilith if this girl was so important to her cause.

Lilith sat thoughtfully as Natalie spoke. She realized that ‘tame parts of hell’ wasn’t exactly the best way to put it, as it was all relative.
“I don’t want to render her catatonic, so the pride circle is out,” she said, tapping her chin.
She thought about it and purgatory didn’t sound like a bad idea, so long as Renee didn’t get the wrong idea about it.
“There aren’t a lot of people in purgatory,” Lilith admitted, “And you’re right, the less they know about us and her, the better. Especially her because I’m fairly sure everyone knows about you and I.”
She meant more about her plan but now she was just talking out loud rather than thinking.
“If she was particularly rash around you, I don’t think she’d behave herself around the likes of Asmodai or something,” she said, “The less we parade her around hell the better, but I seriously need her to cooperate. Do you think she’s susceptible to bribery? You said she was prideful, right? Probably not then.”
