Natalie frowned. "If I took her to the sixth level, we might run into Lucifer," she pointed out. "I would really rather not find out how Renee would behave if she met the King of Pride himself." That was certainly true. Again, Natalie would rather Renee not meet any of the Lords of Sin. Who knew how that would end up? Badly, of course. She would probably- No, undoubtedly- Think that she was better than them, and then she would go and do something incredibly stupid.
"We're far less likely to run into one of the Princes or a Lord of Sin in Purgatory as well," Natalie brought up. She nodded when Lilith said that everyone knew about the two of them. It was probably true. Natalie had no idea how long Lilith had resided in Hell, but she herself had been here for almost 200 years, and Natalie doubted that many other vampires lasted 200 years.
"She probably isn't easily bribed," Natalie said, still frowning. "I think the only way we could explain anything to her would be if we first showed her Purgatory."

Lilith laughed lightly, “Oh my, no. I wouldn’t want to either. Can you imagine what he’d say to her?”
If Renee was as reckless as Natalie was making her out to be, and Lilith was very likely to believe her, Renee would be a liability unless they got her to understand about the ways of Hell. Lilith didn’t want the girl to leave, as she didn’t really have anywhere else to go and she’d be so much happier here than on the mortal plane. Lilith wanted Renee to be happy, above all.
“You’re right, as always,” said Lilith as she sketched out a few more lines on her paper, “Purgatory it is, then. We’ll all go, does that sound alright with you?”
She looked up at Natalie. This was why Natalie was her right-hand, she was usually right and extremely intelligent. If she thought this was the best way to handle Renee, she would do it.

A smile crept across Natalie's face as she thought of Renee and Lucifer meeting. That would be a very interesting meeting, even if Renee probably would be horribly scarred by it for life. Still, though, it would be funny. Oh well, it wasn't in Lilith's best interest, and Natalie would prefer for Renee to not meet with Lucifer if it meant that the girl was totally useless afterwards.
Natalie nodded. "Yes, that sounds good," she said. And it did. It meant that she wasn't stuck trying to reign in Renee all by herself. Besides, Renee did seem to like Lilith, and if she did, then she was far more likely to listen to her. Natalie could tell that Renee didn't like her much, and quite frankly, Natalie didn't care. Renee was some human teenager, not someone whose opinion Natalie found terribly important.
Just because Lilith found the girl important didn't mean that Natalie had to find the girl's opinion of her important.

Lilith nodded happily, “Good, then I’ll arrange for it to happen.”
Lilith didn’t mind that Natalie didn’t like Renee. It was part of the plan and she had just been so lucky as to come across Renee when she did. She was afraid that pack of Hell Wolves had eaten her when she saw a figure.
“Oh, I almost forgot to tell you,” said Lilith, “I think I’m getting closer to getting the power to create vampires.”
She smiled brightly; she had been working for years with the Lord of Hell to get him to trust her enough to have it. That was also part of the plan. She hadn’t revealed all of the details to Natalie or anyone else yet, but she would have to soon, seeing as she was reaching the end of her knowledge.
She had Natalie to look over and make sure she was doing things right anyway. They made a good pair, she thought. Natalie was so intelligent and Lilith was so... not Natalie.

"When will we go, then?" Natalie asked. She liked things being scheduled and orderly, and knowing when and where everything was was always a nerve calmer. Not that Natalie generally got nerves, but she did like to know these sorts of things. It just made her feel. . Calmer. Even if she was a master at pretending to be calm most of the time, she wasn't always so.
Natalie blinked and smiled a little when Lilith mentioned almost gaining the power to create vampires. "How much longer do you think it will take?" she asked. Lilith had been trying for this for decades, and Natalie was sure it fit into the plan somehow. A lot of things that Lilith did managed to fit into it, and if it wasn't her reasoning at first, things tended to fit in.
Natalie wasn't entirely sure what the plan was, though, or the details, but she had trust in Lilith. After all, Lilith had saved her from eternal torment.

Lilith knew that Natalie liked things orderly and scheduled. She was like that even when she was alive, so she really couldn’t blame her.
“We will go… the day after tomorrow,” she said, “In the afternoon, before lunch, does that sound alright?’
It was before lunch because if Renee went on a full stomach, she’d likely get sick. If it was before lunch, she might not eat, but they wouldn’t have a mess on their hands.
“I’m not honestly sure,” said Lilith, “But I think I’m close enough where it will at least be in this decade, I’m sure of it.”
As soon as she had this power, she’d explain all. She needed someone to help her iron out the wrinkles as well and she trusted Natalie with everything, so who better to help her with the finer details of her master plan? The idea of finally being close enough to get the wheels turning excited Lilith to no end.

Natalie nodded. "That sounds good," she said, committing it to memory. Two days from now, after lunch. Excellent. And then perhaps Renee would learn to control her pride just a little better. They couldn't have the girl dying and ending up in Lucifer's circle of Hell. That would ruin everything, if what Lilith was saying about mortal souls was true.
And after all, Natalie had great reason to believe in what Lilith was saying.
Natalie smiled a little. "That's great," she responded, honestly. "That will make things far easier, right?" She didn't know what the plan was, and so she could only make assumptions, but she knew that if Lilith was so excited about being able to create vampires, then it must be important.
Natalie, of course, had been turned into a vampire the traditional way- The way that all the current vampires had been turned. She was the oldest, though, and it wasn't for nothing.

Lilith opened her mouth, about to continue the conversation, but a large owl swooped in through an open window. Lilith paused as Samael moved over to the owl and spoke with it in hushed tones. She turned her head to her drawing for a moment, sketching out a few more details with her charcoal as she waited patiently.
Samael finished the conversation with the owl and it flew off. He moved over to Lilith and whispered what was going on. Lilith blinked a few times and quickly hopped off of her seat.
“Natalie! There’s some news of mages coming down to be judged!” Lilith said excitedly, “I may have to speed up the possibilities of vampires, but could I ask you a terribly huge favor?”
She clasped her hands together; this was too convenient, considering what Natalie was. She was the oldest vampire and the only one that was a former mage. This could be profitable to say the least!
“Could you go down to the judgment gate right now and scout them out?” Lilith asked, practically begging, “I need to know if they still have souls and what kind of mages they are, anything you can find out, really!”

Natalie blinked. Well, then, dead mages? That was always fun. Quite a few of them had come in in the 1930s, but none of them had become vampires. Natalie knew that that was attributed to Dimitri Archer, the biggest laughing stock in Hell. Oh well. She was certain that the Lords of Sin were awfully happy about his blunder. Natalie wasn't so happy with that.
Natalie didn't really like the fourth circle very much or those who associated with it. Personal reasons.
"Of course," Natalie said, standing up. She smiled at Lilith softly. Well, dead mages tended to make her appreciate Lilith, far more than usual. That was saying a lot, as Natalie was eternally grateful to Lilith for saving her from eternal torment. "I'll go now."
With that, Natalie walked towards the door and out to find out what these mages were made of. Hopefully, they would turn out to be useful.
