People tended to assume the kinky when they knew something about him but not what his magic did. Sure, things like that were fun, but not always and it wasn’t the only thing he needed in those situations. Of course, he wouldn’t be surprised if that is what she assumed he meant. It wasn’t that simple, unfortunately.
His eyes went wide when she listed off a few of the things that he could do now. Well, sunlight sucked, silver sucked. Oh well, he wasn’t really the type to wear jewelry. He usually even forgot to wear a damn watch.
“When can I go back, then?” he asked, not even caring that he was showing he was more than eager to get back to the mortal plane.
He didn’t know how much time passed while he was down here and he was raring to go up to the top to see what the fuck had happened.

Natalie frowned. "We'll have to discuss that with Lilith first," she said. "It's up to her. And besides, you need to learn some things before we let you go out onto the surface." Well, she supposed she could see why Dago was so eager to go back. After all, the Order must have changed a great deal since the time she had been alive to the time that Dago had been a mage.
It must have, really. Especially considering who had been in charge for 80-odd years.
Natalie hoped that Lilith would come back soon. She had a great deal to discuss with her about Dago, and she hoped that Lilith's little trip to Purgatory was going well. Hopefully, it was better than Natalie's experience turning Dago had been.
Well, now she knew how to, for when she would inevitably have to do this again many, many times in the future. Hopefully it wouldn't be so bad later on.

Dago frowned. Oh right, something about proving himself. Hell if he knew what that meant, but he’d fucking do it, just because he didn’t think he should have died at that point. He didn’t even make it to thirty after all and he wasn’t sure how much time had passed since he’d even been down here! It’d only felt like a few days, but fuck if he knew how time worked down here.
“What do I have to learn, teach me now then,” he said, trying to be stubborn about this.
He could wait for Lilith, but if as soon as he talked to her, he had to learn shit, he’d rather learn shit now. This was wasting time and he needed to find out what was going on.
Thankfully for Natalie, turning anyone else for the rest of her days shouldn’t ever compare to turning Dago with his innate powers.

"Fine," Natalie said. If he had an innate power, that meant that they wanted to keep him around. . Which meant she would have to give him advice. Oh, fun. "Avoid holy objects, symbols, relics, or places," she began. "They might just kill you. Also, the older you get, the harder it will be to resist the compulsion to count grains of rice that you see, so again, avoid them. Try to avoid feeding from people who will be noticed if they disappear, and make sure that you know your target isn't a demon hunter- Even if it means following them around for a few days. It's better than dying." Well, that had saved her life a few times. "Also, don't run around telling people you're a vampire."
She reached into the inside pocket of her jacket and pulled out a cell phone. It was simple enough to use and it could survive almost anything. Natalie handed it to him. "My phone number is in here," she said. "We'll have to keep in contact. Also," she added, looking at Dago seriously, "If you betray Lilith, I will personally rip your throat out."

Dago nodded as she gave him a bit of advice on being a vampire. Well, some of it was clearly common sense. If he accidentally killed someone that was pretty well known he’d be outed, then killed. Sounded like a bad metaphor for homosexuality, now that he thought of it. The hunting part might be fun, though.
“Does the victim die?” he asked, kind of curious.
If it came down to him against someone else, he’d sure as hell suck away, but it would be nice to know, just in case someone is offering and they want to know the consequences. He wasn’t even sure if he should mention it to Marian when he got back up to the top. Oh well, he’ll have time to think it over.
“A phone?” said Dago, shit, he was really bad with that kind of stuff. Technology, he meant, “Alright, I’ll… try to figure it out.”

Natalie shook her head. "Only if you get carried away," she said. "And you won't be getting carried away, either," she added quickly, frowning at him. "We don't run around killing people for shits and giggles. If you're hungry, then just take what you need, not any more." After all, wasteful killing of humans was sort of silly. After all, they had enough things killing them, if vampires were added, then their supply of human blood might dwindle.
And that wouldn't be very good.
Natalie sighed, and took it back before moving next to him. "Here's how you work it," she said. "You go to your contacts list here, and then you click the little green button when you're at my name." It really wasn't very difficult to figure out, and so Natalie hoped that Dago would get it quickly. She had to be able to contact him! "When you get a call, you press the little green button to pick up."

Dago frowned a little bit. He had self-control, quite a lot of it for what sin he was guilty of and it had gotten him out of several bad situations, even just for his mental health. He would hope that his bloodlust wouldn’t be much different, though if it were a hunger thing, he figured he could handle it. It was a magical hunger, though… It was a confusing situation that he was sure he would simply work out when it came down to his first feeding.
“I wasn’t planning on it,” he assured.
He listened carefully to what she was saying about the phone, figuring that was simple enough. Hell, if it came down to something he didn’t know, he’d just ask for help. Stupid technology for being confusing…
“I think I understand,” he said, kind of embarrassed that he honestly didn’t know this before. He hadn’t frankly used a mobile phone before, they looked way beyond his patience level.

"Good," Natalie said when Dago said he hadn't been planning on killing anyone. Well, that was to be expected, of course. If he had been planning on killing anyone, Natalie would have just gotten rid of him right then and there. There was no use giving a vampire to Lilith who wouldn't be subordinate, after all, and who wasn't the type of person that Lilith was looking for in a vampire.
Natalie handed Dago his phone back. "Try calling me," she commanded. She had to see if he really could figure it out, after all, and this was the best way to do it. She didn't want him being technologically illiterate when they needed him to be able to contact her most, after all. That would end very badly.
Next, she would see if he could figure out how to answer a call. She thought it was rather simple, but you never knew how stupid people could be.

Dago stared at her for a moment; then took the phone. Well, so much for just nodding your head and not really understanding. Now he had to wrack his brain and try to remember what she just said. He looked at the phone. It looked pretty simple, it was about the same size as a kid’s toy, but at least it didn’t look like it was too complicated. He punched in a few of the keys she showed him. The contacts part was actually kind of easy, as she was the only contact there, but he accidentally tried to edit her info and saved it as ‘Natali.’ He hit the end button several times and got back to the menu screen. He tried again and finally entered the call for ‘Natali.’
He looked up at her with an odd look, “I think… I think I did it,” he said, feeling rather pathetic.

Natalie's own phone began buzzing and playing the typical ring tone. She hadn't bothered to change it; she felt no reason for it. She checked her phone, and sure enough, it said that she was being called by 'Dago.' That was good. She slid open her phone and then hung up.
"Congratulations," Natalie said. "You got it. Why did you only think you'd gotten it?" She was a little suspicious now. He had taken a while to call her, after all, even though it was so simple. Natalie hoped that Dago hadn't managed to break the phone or something. Then she would probably have to find an alternate method of communication.
"I'm going to call you next, then, and see if you're able to pick up," Natalie informed him. He should have been, but all things considering, it was better to be safe than sorry. After all, he did seem pretty technologically illiterate.
