Dago was sitting and waiting in Marian’s office, feeling kind of restless. Zed was waiting with him, prattling on about something he outright didn’t care about. He was probably saying something to him, but Dago didn’t care. He knew where they were going and he didn’t particularly want to go. It was worse than revisiting one’s grave, considering he was kind of murdered. He had to go and help, assumedly for heavy lifting or something. He was trying to take his mind off of it, which probably made Zed feel like he did something wrong. Dago didn’t care much.
The only thing that could make this trip worse was if Selene was going, as he’d done a pretty good job of keeping his fancy new party tricks away from her, but he didn’t see her around, thankfully. Now he just had to get through this without being too grumpy, then it’d be a success.

Marian strolled back into his office from his bedroom. He was hungry, really hungry, but he didn't want Zed knowing where his kitchen was. Selene knew, and that was one person too many. Especially considering it was Selene.
Dago also knew where Marian's kitchen was, but Marian trusted Dago just enough that he didn't think that the vampire would be putting cyanide or iocane powder in Marian's food. Besides, Hell already knew where his kitchen was and how paranoid he was of food. Lucifer had gotten in there somehow, after all, and put in a creepy green potion.
"Gentlemen," he said, aware of how dramatic he sounded. Whatever. Leaders had the right to sound dramatic once in a while. He wasn't even overusing his ham and cheese, anyway, not like some comic book villains. "We'll be going back to the old Library now to look around for things. Considering we had to evacuate pretty quickly last time, we didn't grab much. Apparently, there's still stuff there, so we'll be getting back anything of worth."

Zed immediately shut up when Marian walked into the room. That was a huge relief to Dago, but Marian only confirmed what he was thinking. Oh well, better now than… well, better never, but if it had to be done. Zed licked his lips nervously as Marian spoke. He hadn’t thought about going back to the old Library, he figured it’d be a bunch of rubble and bad memories.
“I’m probably not going to be a lot of help…,” he mumbled, half wanted to ask if he could stay here.
Dago frowned, knowing where this was going. If Dago had to go through with this, there was no way Zed was going to weasel his way out of it simply because he thought he’d be unhelpful. The real reason was likely that Zed was a crybaby, nothing more. He’d just have to put a fucking lid on it.
“Do you want to go now?’ Dago asked, ignoring Zed. He glanced around for a clock, unsure of what time it would be at the old library.

Marian nearly rolled his eyes, not really about to deal with Zed's low self-esteem problems. "Three people is better than two," he said, shrugging. "So you're coming along." He didn't really care whether or not Zed wanted to come along. Zed's wishes would get in the way. After all, didn't Zed also want to give up his magic instead of keeping it? That wasn't in the Order's best interest.
Zed would be doing what was in the Order's best interest, not what he wanted to do. Marian didn't intend on letting Zed 'weasel out of' his duty.
Marian checked his watch and nodded. "Yeah," he answered. "It's nighttime where the old Library is right now." It was in Siberia, and it was nighttime in Russia then. They had quite a few hours to go and gather up their things.
He didn't like the idea of going to Siberia at night in the fall, but in the summer there just wasn't enough nighttime to be able to go with Dago.

Zed quieted down, clearly not willing to speak out against Marian, but still upset about having to go; he didn’t realize he was being a brat about it in the least. Really nothing he did was in the Order’s best interest; it was in his first and foremost. He’d probably be the most surprised to hear that.
Dago stood up when Marian said they’d leave right now, “Lead the way then, I don’t have even a guess on where it was.”
He’d gotten out of there by pure luck and thought it was luck that he’d never found out where it was, either. It was suck it up and get shit done time, he reminded himself. Zed nervously stood up after Dago and quickly wondered if there was anything they’d need, but that was pretty silly because they were bringing stuff back, right? He didn’t say anything about it for fear of being talked down again.

"They were good at hiding it, then," Marian said, walking towards the door of his office and pulling it open. He held it open for Dago and Zed- After all, he didn't want to forget Zed and not take him on this 'fun adventure.'
Marian didn't really want to go back to the ruins of the old Library, either, but he acknowledged it was something he had to do. He was the head of the Order, he had to make these decisions and force people to excavate when no one else wanted to.
After all, he was the person that Dimitri Archer had chosen to lead. Not that Dimitri had had particularly good judgement, but Upstairs hadn't opposed or anything, so he figured that they thought he was a good head of the Order as well. In any case, he was better than Dimitri had been.
The Order was flourishing, doing better than it had in the 80 years Dimitri had been in charge. Surely that had something to do with Marian being in charge.

“Better chances of stuff being left,” Dago shrugged in agreement.
He walked out of the door first, quickly followed by Zed, who didn’t notice that getting in the middle eliminated any chances of shirking his duties. Not that he considered it anyway; crossing Marian was a much bigger fear in his mind. Dago headed toward the portal hallway, which wasn’t very far from Marian’s office.
Zed stepped ahead and moved into the closest portal room. Dago thought he looked nervous and frowned again. He knew that Marian asked him and Zed to come along simply because the rest of the newer students didn’t need to know about what happened there. If that weren’t a factor, he would have preferred another companion; someone who was less like a Chihuahua. Dago almost laughed, that was a pretty accurate comparison. Too small to do anything useful and shook when they were scared, that was Zed.

Marian nodded. It had been almost three years since the Library had burned down when Tobias Archer decided to get his revenge on his dear old dad, but Marian couldn't think of who in their right mind would go wandering around Siberia for funzies- Or for any reason, really. He hadn't heard of any planes crashing right over Russia, so that gave him some hope. Now he just had to pray some dumbass hadn't thought wandering around Siberia was a good idea.
You never knew, after all. There were all sorts of weird people in the world.
Once they got to the portal room, Marian stepped up and quickly punched in the coordinates to the old Library. The portal appeared, and he gestured to it. "After you," he said, keeping an eye on Zed. He didn't want the other mage to go and run off. Marian would have rather taken a student who could be helpful, like Fatima, but Marian wasn't about to tell Fatima or anyone else what had happened.

Dago watched the portal open up to a night scene, thankfully. He believed Marian when he said it was nighttime, but it was better to be safe about it. Zed took the pause in both Dago and Marian to mean he should enter first. Oh that was just great, he was already pretty nervous about this whole thing and they were going to make him be first! He swallowed heavily and walked through the portal. Dago followed him.
The ruins were pretty much the same from when Dago appeared there after he’d been put back, there was more snow and it was really cold. It looked more like old ruins rather than fresh debris.
“We’ll want to look where the warehouse was, huh,” Dago said, heading in that direction.
It was a little difficult to navigate without the normal landmarks in the Library, like the mezzanine and the stairs, but it was pretty clear where the stairs down to the warehouse used to be.

Marian followed Dago and Zed through the portal. He was glad that they were finally getting this over with- The Library really needed to be searched and looked through, just to make sure that they hadn't left anything behind. All of the top floors were gone, though.
It was like they were going on an excavation project to some old castle ruins or something. The snow and darkness were making this trip a bit creepy, but it would have been creepy anyway, going back to this place. Marian was very glad that ghosts were really rare and that mages rarely made it to purgatory. And that they weren't generally evil.
Well, the one he knew wasn't evil, at least. But evil people didn't make it to purgatory, so. .
Marian led the way to the stairs to the warehouse and began walking down them. It was obvious where they were, just where they had been when the old Library had been around. Marian couldn't help but think that this place was a bit creepy, but he knew it was important to go back.
