When Marian blew up the pendant, the explosion turned a nasty dark red color instead of the normal green of Marian’s magic. There was the sound of a lot of rushing air and then suddenly it stopped. There was a large red stain on the floor; it didn’t look quite like blood. The room was momentarily lit completely and then darkened quickly because of the flash of light.
“The hell?” Dago said, after watching the spectacle in front of them. He paused to listen and smell, “There isn’t anything else, as far as I can tell.”
The corpse of the demon wasn’t doing anything currently, so he assumed it was going to stay dead. Things were getting weird, to say the least.
“Can… can we start getting out of here now?” Zed asked nervously, trying to keep his voice from shaking, which make his fire flicker a little bit.

"Good," Marian said, after exhaling the breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. Shit. What the fuck had that thing been, and what the fuck was it doing in the Library? Marian considered that someone had brought it in between the fire and them coming back. . But it seemed unlikely, considering all that was there was them- The only sentient things, that is.
"Yes, let's leave," Marian said. He turned around and began climbing back up the stairs. He knew he didn't have to wait for Zed; the other mage certainly wouldn't want to stick around here. Marian sure as hell didn't want to. It was creepy, the snowy ruins of a magical place. At night.
It wasn't like he was afraid or anything, though. No, he just had a bad feeling about this place, that was it. Any rational person wouldn't want to hang around there; even Dago seemed a bit freaked out!
