Dom was standing over a large cauldron he’d acquired to begin stocking up on potions. He was making something simple right now, just to stock up on potions in case of emergency. From what he knew, they didn’t expire or anything, so having a lot would be useful. There was next to nothing lying around, which was bad and good. Thankfully, it seemed their medical mage was capable enough, if a bit flakey, but if he wasn’t around, they’d be in trouble. The good part was Dom felt useful and helpful in his new home, which was a first for him. It was a bit selfish to think that way, but Dom thought he could afford it this once.
He reached over to his table to add something to the cauldron, but found all of his bottles were empty. That wouldn’t get him anywhere. He gathered them up and walked out of the potions room and toward the infirmary, trying to find some ingredients.

Simon sighed as he stalked down to the infirmary for his stomachache. He'd been here nearly three years and hadn't exactly accomplished much. Well, he'd gotten better at portalling, and could portal multiple people around and to long distances and all that fun stuff, but his magic wasn't very useful. Well, sure, it'd be great if one needed to escape or something without warning, but that was it.
Oh well. At least it meant he didn't get dragged off by Marian to go help him with whatever crazy scheme he needed to do like Mischa and Hakan seemed to do. Simon didn't know if Dago got dragged around a lot; wasn't he a passive mage? Simon didn't know. Dago was pretty mysterious and didn't show up much.
Besides, he had more time for writing this way. He'd even gotten a book of short stories published! That was great, he was on his way to being like Joyce. Now, if only he could finish a damn novel or something. .
Simon finally made it to the infirmary and saw a short man standing over a cauldron. He recognized the guy. . Dom, right? Yeah, that was it. "Uhm, hey," he said, awkwardly and scratching the back of his head. "You wouldn't happen to be making a stomachache cure potion, would you?"

Dom paused when he heard someone walk in. They greeted him, Dom almost felt like a deer in the headlights. He wasn’t a ‘medical mage’ so he wasn’t sure if he should do anything, but he did know he could. He wasn’t really used to seeing people around much anyway. Damn he needed to get out more.
“Uhhh…, hi,” he said slowly. He put down all of the bottles he gathered up and looked to see who was asking for something. He’d gotten familiar in passing with most of the people in the Order, he’d mostly been told names and short descriptions. Someone about his height, with an accent, Dom registered the points of interest and realized this must be Simon.
Dom quickly turned away to face his shelves of potions, “What are the symptoms?” he asked curtly. He was pretty sure he could help out, unless it was something more serious than indigestion.

Simon frowned. Well, stomachache was a symptom of something else, wasn't it? Or did he mean how did it ache or something? Well, Simon supposed that made sense, although he'd never been asked that by a doctor or anything before. It was kind of weird, but oh well. Maybe that was how Americans did things? Yasuo was the medical mage, and he was from Japan, not America, so that would explain him acting different.
"Well, it really hurts. It's like a sharp pain, I guess? Like someone stabbed me, except I haven't been stabbed," Simon said awkwardly. He wasn't the best speaker ever, despite being a decent writer. "I feel really nauseous, too, like I'm going to throw up or something." He supposed that his social awkwardness wasn't the best thing ever when he had to get something from someone else.
Oh well. After this was over he could curl up in a blanket with some hot coffee and a pen and paper.

Dom frowned, too. He wasn’t a doctor, he had no clue what that could mean, but he was pretty sure he had something that would help with pain and nausea as well as coat the stomach. That was the important part, from what he could see. He was hoping that Simon could tell him something Dom didn’t know.
He picked up a small shaker of powder and moved to get a glass of water. He shook a little bit of the contents of the shaker inside and grabbed a clean spoon and stirred it around. He had all of this already set up for brewing potions, so Simon was lucky in that sense. The water turned faintly blue and Dom held it out for Simon.
“That should help, I think,” he said with an unsure frown.
He really didn’t want to be perceived as incapable, especially in front of a mage he hadn’t spoken with before, but really, his job was to make potions, not administer them. That was why he and Yasuo had to work in tandem.

"Thanks," Simon said as he accepted the glass, although he didn't feel too great when Dom added the "I think" to the end of the sentence. Oh. Well, that didn't sound too promising, although Simon could certainly cross his fingers and hope he'd be lucky enough that it would work.
Hah. Luck. That wasn't something Simon had in large quantities or had ever had. Oh well, maybe Lady Fortune would smile down on him today? He'd be really grateful to her if she did. Like, really grateful. He'd even write her a poem, just to show how grateful he was! Just please let it work. .?
Simon swallowed down the blue drink and looked curiously at Dom. "Where's Yasuo, anyway?" he asked. Usually the man was hanging around the infirmary, so it was weird that he wasn't there for once and had just left Dom by himself. Of course, the one time Simon needed medical help. .

Dom nodded and waited. Simon should feel the effects immediately if he had the right combination of stuff. Maybe he should have put the powder in milk. Oh well, it was too late now.
Simon distracted Dom from thoughts of effective potions with a question, “Oh, Yasuo? He said something about shopping or something, I don’t know. It didn’t sound very interesting. He asked for the favor, I didn’t think anyone would come around.”
He kind of wished no one had, but it couldn’t be helped. It wasn’t very fair to ask Simon to hold off on getting treatment for his stomach, just because Dom wanted to be left alone. That was too selfish for Dom to even consider. It wasn’t even really that Dom wanted to be left alone, he just didn’t want to many opportunities for him to screw up.
“Did it work?” he asked, suddenly, “It should have worked immediately once it hit your stomach.”

Simon nodded. Well, that made sense, he guessed. He really had to go shopping for new clothes sometime, too. His were getting lots of rips and too many patches on clothes just looked ridiculous once they got to a certain point. "That makes sense," he said, feeling a bit bad that he'd had to go to the infirmary. Dom obviously wasn't a medical mage or anything, so Simon kind of felt like he was intruding. . But his stomach had really hurt and he wasn't even sure why! It was weird.
Oh god. He probably had Swine Flu or something. And then he was going to die from it. The only person in how many years to die of it? Just his luck.
Simon nodded again when Dom asked him if it had worked. "Yeah, it did. ." he said, surprised that the effects had happened so quickly. Well, it was a potion, not medication made with science, so. .

Little did Simon know that Yasuo was pretty frequent with his ditching infirmary duty to go clothes shopping, but Dom wasn’t about to throw him under the bus like that. He was really nice to Dom, so it wasn’t really necessary anyway.
“It did? Oh good, I was worried I gave you the laxative and not the pain reliever,” Dom said, sounding genuinely relieved.
He wasn’t being serious, but a little practical joke didn’t hurt anyone. If Simon didn’t flip out, it was a good ice breaker. Dom wasn’t exactly adept at making friends, but he had to try. He chewed on his lip piercing and watched Simon for his reaction. Simon seemed about as quiet as Dom was and almost just as awkward. Well, if he was going to have a friend, Simon was as good as any. They might even have something in common, then.

Simon probably wouldn't have cared much if he knew that Yasuo ditched infirmary duty to go clothes shopping- Provided it wasn't on the day that Simon got sick, of course. Then it was a little bit bothersome. But normally, Simon wouldn't care. Shirking duty was common, after all, as Simon knew very well.
Simon's eyes practically bugged out when Dom said that he thought he'd accidentally given him the laxative. He stayed quiet and in shock for a few seconds before he realized that Dom was kidding. He laughed and felt his cheeks turn a bit red at his embarrassment for falling for a practical joke.
"Oh god, I thought you were serious for a second. ." he said, still laughing. He nervously scratched the back of his head again, although he made sure to check his fingernails. Just to make sure he didn't have lice or anything else gross that wanted to hide out in his scalp.
