Dago was spending the last few hours of his forced monogamy in the basement of the Library picking through the piles of things that Marian, Zed, and he had carried back from the old Library. He had found a strange piece of glass. It looked like half of a pair of glasses to him. He peered through the slightly foggy glass and saw a shadow of something. He pulled the glass away from his eye and stared at the spot where he’d seen the shadow. That was weird, there was nothing there.
He checked his phone, which had miraculously stayed intact regardless of his mistreatment, and found that it was about time to leave to see Lilith. He grinned to himself; he’d been able to stand only sleeping with Marian for three years and it wasn’t even that bad… most days. It only got really horrible when he realized that he could have been sleeping with Hakan six months earlier, and Hans a year and a half earlier… and probably would have made a pass at Vida once or twice… and could have done more than make Simon think he was having strange fantasies about Dago… and… Well, things could have been much more ‘productive’ but he really liked the luxury of coming and going as he pleased, so he’d just have to make up for lost time.
He pocketed the weird piece of glass and walked up one of the portal rooms, shutting the door behind him. He made sure to lock it, lest someone were to accidentally follow him into hell, before he punched in the coordinates he’d need to get to Lilith’s castle without any troubles.
He entered the castle carefully and was only momentarily lost before he knocked on the door he was pretty sure she’d be behind. Lilith called for him to open the door, he did so. Lilith was sitting at an easel, though what she was drawing was vastly different than she normally drew. She quickly rose out of her seat and flipped the paper on the easel over, so Dago couldn’t investigate it further. He wasn’t really trying, but it looked something like a stylized map.
Lilith smiled kindly toward him when he quickly averted his eyes from what she was doing. She knew he’d find out soon enough, but it wasn’t something for him to worry about now. “Is it that time already?” she asked, knowing why he was here.
“I wanted to make sure it was,” Dago said, shoving his hands into his pockets, “I was doing so well, I didn’t want to fuck it up now.”
“It is indeed,” Lilith confirmed, “You did very well proving your sin has no hold over you. I have something that I will need you to do, but not for a while. Enjoy your new bit of freedom, you’ll hear from Natalie.”
Dago nodded and grinned a little bit, “Thanks, I will.”
He turned and left Lilith’s drawing room and started up the stairs to see if he could find Natalie to thank her. He knocked on what he thought was her bedroom door.
