Dago was pretty sure something was wrong here, he had no idea what the fuck it was, but Marian was far too frantic to be playing around. He started to approach the desk, trying to get a better view of who was behind him, but the copy stood up immediately.
“Stop right there, or I snap his neck!” the copy said, his voice not sounding as confident as that statement should have been.
Dago blinked a couple of times and frowned. How in the hell had a incubus gotten past Marian? If anyone was more paranoid about those things than he was, it was Marian. That meant the damn thing didn’t have the strength to do something like that.
“Yeah right,” he said with an eye roll.
The copy stared at him for a moment, shocked his bluff was called, but by that point, Dago was already behind him. He was again, so damn grateful he was a fucking vampire for situations like these. He roughly twisted the copy’s arm around his back and wrestled him to the ground. The damn thing had a lot of fight in it; it was much stronger than the average incubus. Dago finally gave it a hard knock on the head and it fell unconscious. He expected it to shift back to demon form, but it didn’t. That was weird.
He got up and started untying Marian from his desk chair to find out what the hell happened. He pulled the gag off first, “How the hell did an incubus get in here?” he asked.

Marian didn't answer when Dago pulled his gag off. Well, he did answer, but he didn't answer Dago's question. "There's an anti-magic seal on my arm," he said hoarsely. "There's pens on my desk. Cross it out as fast as you can." His eyes flickered back to the copy as he spoke to Dago, not wanting that thing to wake up again. He had to deal with it as soon as possible: If he didn't, the entire Order would be in danger.
After he said that to Dago, he finally answered the question. "It isn't a succubus," Marian explained. It didn't have black nails, after all. "I don't know what the fuck it is, but it isn't even a demon. It's really stupid, though, but it knows seals and shit like that, and it's stronger and faster than most humans." He looked back up at Dago and frowned for a second before looking back down at the copy.

Dago found which arm Marian was talking about and grabbed the nearest pen and obscured the seal. He quickly undid anything else restraining Marian to the chair as Marian explained what he knew about it.
“That’s fucking weird,” he said, glancing down at the copy, “Not a demon?”
Dago wasn’t aware of anything in the world other than demons, unless one counted angels. He didn’t think they counted because he barely thought they existed, aside from that stoic one that dragged him down to Hell. She wasn’t an angel so much as a Valkyrie, anyway.
The copy moved slightly, like it was coming back to its senses. Dago glanced at Marian for half a second before he knelt down to twist its arms behind its back. The copy was startled and realized it was being restrained and tried to struggle.
“Let me go, I wasn’t going to hurt anyone, I swear!” the copy gasped.

"Oh? Is that why you were constantly threatening me?" Marian sneered. He glared down at the copy. He would have just blown it up in a controlled explosion, but Dago was too close for it to work without harming anyone that didn't need to be harmed. He frowned, and considered his options. Well, he could always act like Darth Vader. . Darth Vader was pretty cool, after all, despite the fact that Star Wars was kind of nerdy.
He moved his hand up and focused his will around the copy's neck. He wasn't sure if this would work or not, but he could try, at least. Maybe the copy would pass out again, and he would just be able to blow it up. If not, he was sure he could find something in his office to kill it with. . His eyes flickered to the sword shaped letter opener on his desk. Perfect.

The copy struggled again. It wasn’t quite sure what to say about that question, he just wanted everyone to go away and after that he wasn’t sure. Instincts were a funny thing.
“No, I swear, I just wanted--,” his voice was cut off by a horrible choking noise.
He struggled again, harder this time. Dago didn’t have much of a problem keeping him down while he could practically sit on top of him, though. The copy struggled valiantly until it gradually began to weaken and its head slumped on the floor. Dago held on for another moment before he let go, though he didn’t go far.
“Don’t want to figure out what it is?” Dago said offhand. It didn’t really matter, though he was curious. He thought he had a pretty good idea of anything that would come bother anyone, but this was a new and pathetic, but still new something.

Marian raised his eyebrow. Well, that might be a good idea, to find out what Lucifer's army of creepy things that weren't demons was. They were incredibly stupid, much like the King of Pride himself, but they were impervious to his anti demon magic and knew about anti magic seals, so they were a threat, however small. He didn't want any of these things creeping up on Adela, who definitely wouldn't know what to do if she ran into one.
"Sure, let's find out what it is," Marian said, nodding. He stood up from his chair, forgetting about the fact that his shirt was totally unbuttoned, and crouched down next to the copy before slapping it with as much force as he could muster to awaken it. "Come on, get up," he hissed at the copy, obviously not caring much about its well being or anything. Why would he? It worked for Lucifer!

Considering how unsure and hesitant the copy had been, it was likely that anyone who didn’t have any kind of attachment to Dago and had a strong enough personality would have been able to handle him effectively. He was caught quickly by Marian, but was horrible at thinking on his feet. The copy didn’t respond immediately, but slowly regained consciousness. He seemed surprised that he was alive and tried to move his arms, but Dago was there to quickly pin them back down again.
He looked up at Dago and Marian with absolute fear on his face. He wasn’t sure why he wasn’t dead, but it couldn’t be good. This was the second time in less than fifteen minutes that he’d been knocked unconscious, but he was still alive? The copy didn’t like his odds here. His eyes were darting around the room, trying to find something to help himself.
Dago snickered, “He looks just like me, can we keep him?”

Marian scowled. "No, we can't keep him," Marian said. "It's hard enough with only one of you around." His scowl lifted as he said the last sentence, though, and he took on a much lighter and teasing tone. After all, he didn't want Dago thinking he was serious, although he doubted Dago would care much.
It wasn't hard keeping Dago around, though. Marian just had to make sure that Hanniel and Upstairs didn't know that there was a vampire hanging out in the Library, and everything would be fine. Marian highly doubted that Upstairs would be happy about the fact that Dago was staying there- Actually, in fact, he knew that they wouldn't be. Marian liked Dago quite a bit and preferred him staying alive. . Well, undead. . Whatever.
"What are you?" Marian asked the copy harshly. He had to figure out what this thing was in order to destroy it.

“Aw, that’s disappointing,” Dago said with a grin. Marian was correct, he wouldn’t have cared anyway.
The copy watched them with a horrified expression as they spoke of him like a lost dog or some orphaned child. It was likely he won’t be treated as well as either of them, though. He stared at Marian with wide eyes as he asked him what he was. He knew, but he wasn’t so sure it was a good idea to tell him. Then again, now that the magic seal was off… The copy wasn’t so sure he wanted to risk that being Marian’s only magic.
“I’m… not really sure what I am!” the copy cried out suddenly, “I think I’m scraps of a soul, rolled up into a ball, but nothing big enough to have my own body. I… don’t know much else, I’m sorry!”
That would be why the demon spell didn’t work on him. He only had intermittent memories and knowledge, which is why he knew seals and a little bit about magic, but not much else.

Marian good naturedly rolled his eyes at Dago and then turned back to the copy, his expression going back to its normal serious stoniness. It was a good thing that the copy was at least smart enough to not risk the anti demon magic as his only magic, because it definitely was not. After all, he had basically force choked the copy into submission. It was acting cowardly now, Marian thought, frowning. Well, it probably hadn't known it was at the Library until it popped up there.
What a stupid thing. It would take too much energy to kill it, he decided, and he'd rather save that energy to. . Ah. . Thank Dago for saving him.
Marian leaned in close to the copy. "You're going to leave right now, and you're never going to go back to the mortal world, do you understand? If you come back, then I will personally deal with you. Now leave!" he hissed, glaring at the copy.
