Lilith was making final preparations on her plans for the attack on the Pride Castle. Things had suddenly seemed like they were going too fast, but it was too late for hesitation. She regarded Natalie and Dago, whom she had summoned for the occasion, letting them both know to prepare for today. She wasn’t entirely sure if they would end up fighting, but she wanted them to be aware it was a possibility.
She had a drawn map of the Pride Circle on her drawing room table and she had a large red circle over where she wanted Natalie and Dago to wait for her signal. She had gathered up a few straggling demons to fight along with them, but Lilith’s part specifically was not-combat related.
“We understand the plan, right?” she asked them both, looking up from the map with some apprehension.
She hadn’t told Natalie what signal to look for, but she didn’t intend to. Most of this plan, she hadn’t even detailed to her.

Natalie nodded. She understood the plan. Her group was to wait for the signal and take over the Pride Castle when the time was right. Natalie wasn't sure how that would solve the problem of Lucifer, but she assumed that Lilith would somehow incapacitate him. Natalie hoped that Lilith would be okay- After all, Lucifer was the most powerful Lord of Sin. Still, though, she had to have faith in her. She had to believe that everything would go according to plan. Because if it didn't. . Natalie glanced over at Dago and then at Lilith.
Well, if everything went wrong, then chances were high that Natalie and Dago wouldn't be in existence anymore, and Lilith would be imprisoned. Natalie had a feeling that none of the Lords of Sin would be keen on rescuing her like how Lucifer had rescued Beelzebub.
Natalie swallowed her fear and kept her grave look on her face. She couldn't doubt this plan.

“Good. Then take the demons over here,” she pointed to a circle she drew on the map overlooking the Pride circle, “And wait for the signal. Watch out of soul collectors, this is on the border between the circles Pride and Greed.”
She rolled up the map and offered it to Natalie, knowing that she’d need it more than Lilith would. She was trying to convey to Natalie that everything was going to be alright, though she knew better. This whole business was going to be a bust if Natalie didn’t do as directed and everything Lilith worked for would have gone down the drain.
“Before you go, can I speak to you for a second, Dago?” Lilith said, “Natalie, can you go speak to the demons we have as troops?”
She had something very important to say, but she really didn’t want Natalie to know about it until there wasn’t anything she could do about it, but one of them needed to know.

Natalie frowned when Lilith mentioned soul collectors. Yes, Mephistopheles and Lawrence and their ilk were the last people Natalie wanted to see during this mission. She. . She didn't have very good memories of the Greed Castle. She hadn't seen Mephistopheles and Lawrence for quite some time, and she was quite happy with keeping it that way.
Natalie accepted that map and nodded. She still had that feeling in her gut, though, the one that told her to be wary. It wasn't that she had a bad feeling about this or anything, it was just that she was nervous, and honestly, afraid. Afraid of failing Lilith, afraid from messing all of this up and ruining everything for the woman who had saved her. She blinked a few times and swallowed again. Positive thinking, she reminded herself. She couldn't allow herself to fall into that kind of trap.
"Of course," Natalie said, wondering what Lilith wanted to talk to Dago about. Oh well. . She could trust Lilith. She knew that the woman wasn't going to sell her to Mammon and betray her.

Lilith saw Natalie out and shut the door behind her. She had a couple of things to discuss with Dago, who looked a trifle confused about it.
“What’s the matter?” he asked, almost tentative. He thought he might have fucked something up or worse.
“I’m not coming back, I need you to make sure that Natalie doesn’t try to find me, okay?” Lilith said in a hurry, “I’m going to make it so she’s the most powerful demon in the Pride Circle while I take care of Lucifer, she is supposed to become the next Queen of Pride, but I’m going to get punished for it, got it? Wait for a fire at the top of castle, which means I’ve taken care of him.”
Dago nodded with a set of wide eyes. He wasn’t entirely aware of the ramifications of Lilith’s decision, but there wasn’t anything he could interject that would change it.
“Good, now go,” she said, opening the door for him.
Dago immediately left the room to catch up with Natalie, but not before mopping his face with his hands. Damn, he never thought he’d be a part of something this big before.

Natalie was completely unaware that she was supposed to become the next Lord of Pride, and also that Lilith wouldn't be returning. All she knew was that she was supposed to go storm the Pride Castle with a demon horde and take it over. Natalie didn't know what happened after that, really, she assumed that they were simply gaining ground to hold, not that she was supposed to run things and that Lilith was going to be captured.
When Dago caught up with her, Natalie had just finished telling her subordinates the plan, or at least what she knew of the plan. There would be a signal and they were to attack the Pride Castle, and take it. Natalie wasn't quite sure what the signal was going to be, but she knew it would be obvious. She knew she'd know it when she saw it.
Now they just had to avoid soul collectors. It was funny, really, how Natalie was more afraid of them than the powerful pride demons, or what would happen to her should she fail.

Dago felt the pressure for keeping this secret from Natalie and he was pretty damn glad she was more in charge than he was. He was pretty convinced that anyone following him would end up dead in this situation, even if that wasn’t exactly the plan. He listened to what Natalie was finishing saying to the smattering of demons Lilith had gathered. They all looked like a rag tag team of bad luck walking in Dago’s opinion, but his opinion of other demons wasn’t particularly good. Lilith seemed to have some semblance of confidence in them, so he figured he should as well.
He waited until she was finished before he approached her to say anything. The last thing he wanted was to get her pissed off at him right now. This was too important to be infighting.
“Hey, everything’s ready,” he said, “Ready to head up to the cliff?”

Natalie looked over at Dago when he spoke. "Yeah," she answered, attempting to keep the nervousness out of her voice. She couldn't show weakness, not to anyone, and especially not Dago, who she was in charge of. They had to have faith in her, after all, and she couldn't let them see that she was worried that she would mess up and they would fail and all be killed and Lilith would be imprisoned and it would all be her fault. . She nodded, and told her rag tag team of demons, her little horde, to follow, before turning and going.
"Did she tell you what the signal is?" Natalie asked Dago, frowning. She assumed she would know it, sure. . But what if something was going wrong and they mistook the signs of that for a signal? In any case, Natalie wanted to see if Dago knew, and if that was what Lilith had told Dago.

Dago had to bite his tongue to prevent himself from wincing. Now that he knew what was actually going on, he wasn’t nearly so worried about the oncoming danger. From what Lilith made it sound, there wouldn’t be much of a fight anyway. He stayed near the front with her, figuring that was where Lilith would want him. He wasn’t exactly sure what she meant when she had said he had to make sure Natalie didn’t go after her, but he had a big hunch that he’d quickly find out.
“Uh… yeah, she said there would be a fire at the top of the castle,” he said, accidentally sounding suspicious without meaning to.
He hoped it made him sound unsure instead of like he knew something he shouldn’t. They weren’t too far from the point Lilith told them to wait for the signal, thankfully. He hoped she would at least hurry up so they didn’t have to wait long.

Natalie raised her eyebrows at the tone of his voice, wondering if he knew something she didn't- Until she realized, of course he did. Lilith had wanted to speak to him, after all. About what, Natalie had no idea and she wished she knew, but still. She trusted Lilith with her entire existence. She knew Lilith wouldn't mess up or lie to Natalie or betray her. After all, Lilith had saved Natalie from an eternity with Mammon, and that was enough to make Natalie trust her unconditionally.
They finally arrived at the cliff and Natalie stared down at the castle for a few seconds, before remembering where they were. "Dago, don't take your eyes off the castle," Natalie said to him, not wanting to miss the signal. Still, though, they had to be careful and alert. They were at the border of the Greed circle, and Natalie didn't want to run into any soul collectors. . She didn't know how strong they were, but she was so used to being completely powerless against them that she didn't want to fight them unless she absolutely had to.
