Dago had never felt more accomplished walking back into the library. He didn’t do nearly as much as Natalie and Lilith had, but none of that really matter with his goal in mind. He wasn’t certain Natalie would be very happy about what he was planning on doing, but he was really only planning on telling Marian because Marian would care the most. Dago wasn’t oblivious to the bullshit antics Lucifer had already pulled on him, so this would be more than a little vindicating. He felt like he owed it to Marian a little bit, considering he had been honest with Dago about his lineage, no matter how aggravating that had been.
Dago had been gone awhile and since it was something of an emergency, he hadn’t given a lot of notice. He didn’t figure it mattered too much and this would make up for it. He knocked on Marian’s office door, waiting to be invited in. He hadn’t been here in a while and noticed that he had no troubles getting into the Pride Castle. Time to reestablish his ‘home,’ it appeared.

"Come in," Marian Havas II called, sitting at his desk as normal, drinking some coffee. He'd just had a boring day of training his apprentices. They were getting better and better at magic, but that didn't mean they didn't still need direction.
He'd been wondering where Dago was recently, and he was almost a little worried- Not that he'd admit it, of course. He just. . He just didn't want Dago dying twice. It wasn't. . He felt responsibility. That was it. He felt responsibility for Dago's first death, and he had to keep Dago from dying again. Had to. Because once Dago died again, he would be gone forever, and Marian couldn't bear to think about that.
Marian didn't think that his visitor was Dago, though. It was probably just another one of his students or something. Still, though. He hoped that Dago was alright. He was really helpful, after all.

Dago opened the door, grin wide. It was pretty obvious that he was excited about something. He moved over to the desk and leaned over it.
“Hey, are you busy?” he asked without preamble, “Sorry I’ve been out, but I’ll explain later.”
Dago wasn’t sure he could wait for this, even if he was busy, but he didn’t want to spoil the surprise. That look of realization is really what Dago wanted to see, because as far as Dago was concerned, this was permanent and that meant a world of relief. No more ropes, no more walking into Marian’s apartment expecting him to be in some kind of predicament, no more stupid sets of tasks that might cost their lives, none of that bullshit and Marian being safe was a relief for both of them. It really did make Dago feel like he was earning his keep by helping when he could, but if this made Marian sleep easier…

Dago?" Marian asked, looking up and relieved. He stood up immediately and walked swiftly over to Dago, not wanting to seem like her cared too much over his demonic friend. Friend. It was still strange to see Dago as that, even after all those years. But really, Dago was his first friend. The first person he'd cared about outside of family. And he'd been worried.
"No, I'm not busy," he said, shaking his head. "And where have you been? I thought something had-" He cut off and frowned, irritated that he was showing that. He wasn't supposed to. He was the head of the Order; he wasn't supposed to show petty little emotions like worry and fear. "Where have you been?" he just reasked, trying to act as though he hadn't had that little slip of tongue.
Dammit. Dago was just easy to let one's guard down around, Marian thought. It must have been useful for him, being a vampire and all.

Dago grinned widely, it was hard not to seem downright giddy about this trip, “Later, I promise I’ll tell you everything, but I have to show you something. We need to get to Berlin.”
The concern was clear and Dago appreciated it, but he was respectful enough of Marian’s pride to not mention it. He pushed boundaries, sure, but not enough to make Marian dislike him in any way. That whole ego-stroking dichotomy was a big part of how they got as close as they are.
“I can tell you that I’ve been doing some shit for Lilith and Natalie,” he said with a shrug, “But the rest when we get there.”
He hadn’t had the time to go over there and make sure his ‘surprise’ was there or not, he’d just have to trust the information he had. Dago didn’t think Lilith would have failed or lied, after all.

Marian raised an eyebrow. "Berlin?" he asked, frowning. He was about to ask why, but it seemed that Dago felt like withholding information. He was a bit wary; he didn't know whether it was the real Dago or not. For all Marian knew, it was some succubus or incubus sent to steal his soul. Well, he had his pendant, at least, and it didn't feel like anyone was about to attack him. Still, he would keep his magic ready, just in case it was a trap.
"Alright," Marian said. He took his jacket from the coat rack and buttoned it up before heading towards the portal room. Marian was hoping that this wasn't a trap and that nobody had done anything to Dago. If it wasn't, though, he wondered what Dago was going to show him that was in Berlin of all places. Wasn't that where his Turkish student, Hakan, was from? Well, he'd see soon, hopefully.

In his excitement, Dago hadn’t even considered that he might be acting strangely, or he would’ve spilled everything beforehand out of fear of getting smushed like a bug under a big figurative boot of magic. He didn’t even want to know if he could be possessed or controlled; that’d spell immediate doom for him especially. It was risky living in a library full of mages when one was a demon, let alone a vampire. Only Marian knew that, thankfully, but Marian was paranoid… He’d lived this far, at least.
He led Marian out to the portal rooms and punched out the coordinates for the Berlin zoo. The portal opened up inside of the zoo, in the maintenance shed. Dago stepped through and pulled the light drawstring, waving at Marian to follow him once he could see in the darkness. The zoo would be inevitably closed, or Dago wouldn’t be able to come with, but that was better for the surprise.

Marian stepped through the portal into the Berlin Zoo. He still didn't feel any heat on his chest, which was a good thing. No surprise attacks, not yet, anyway. He glanced around and then looked at Dago. He didn't see anything particularly interesting, not yet, anyway. He still remained aware of his surroundings, unsure whether something had possessed Dago or not. After all, some of Lucifer's demons could do that, Marian knew.
He followed Dago through the zoo, trying to figure out what it was that Dago wanted to show him. Really, what the hell could be in the zoo? Something about Lilith and Natalie, the women who had brought Dago back from the dead? Marian had no fucking clue, but he wished that Dago would just fucking tell him already. The lack of knowledge was making him antsy and anxious, and he didn't like feeling like that, not one bit.

As Dago had never been to the Berlin Zoo before, he did have to take a moment to figure out where to go. He didn’t figure the lion exhibit would be hidden away or anything, and soon enough, Dago led them to the outcropping of rocks where the lions slept. There was a small pride of them, lounging around, a few watching the pair with mild, but bored interest. Dago was looking for one specifically, a male that was likely bigger than the rest and with a peculiar marking…
“There,” he pointed to the one near the bottom, grumpily attempting to open the feeding door, “See anything weird on that one?”
The lion had a scar that was very obvious on the left side, near the tail. It was pretty obviously a seal of some kind and upon closer inspection; it would resemble an anti-magic seal. The same one Lucifer used on Marian not too long ago.

Marian followed Dago, still wary and suspicious that a group of Pride Demons would come any second and accost him and drag him back to Lucifer and then only Upstairs knew what would happen to him then. He pushed that thought out of his head, but stayed careful. He didn't feel any heat being emitted from the pendant on his chest, but he knew that he couldn't rely completely on that to tell him when danger was approaching.
Finally, when they got there, he spotted the large looking lion with. . An anti-magic seal on its ass? The seal looked familiar, obviously, and Marian knew that it was the one Lucifer and then later the clone of Dago had used on him while restraining him before. He looked over at Dago with a raised eyebrow. "Magical lions. .?" he found himself asking, not quite sure of what was going on, but he did know that it was important.
