Lilith had the Terasque and Samael already prepared for the journey to Purgatory for today. Samael was in the Terasque’s stable, putting on his saddle and feeding the beast. He was so finicky he didn’t really like to be fed by anyone that he didn’t immediately know and remember.
Lilith was walking back toward her bedroom, but passed right over it and knocked on the next door. It should be Renee’s room. She didn’t want to intrude on the girl before she knew her very well, though she would have done so with Natalie. She knew Natalie didn’t mind and didn’t figure she would be doing anything she wouldn’t want Lilith to see. Lilith didn’t mind about things that people ‘shouldn’t’ be doing anyway.
She knocked softly again, hoping for an answer this time. Today was an important step in her plans, so it simply couldn’t be skipped. Now or never, as they say.

Renee was woken up by somebody knocking at her door. She was tempted to pretend she was still sleeping, but no, that was probably pointless anyway.
She sat up, then looked around in confusion. It took a minute before she woke up enough to remember where she was and why she was there. "Guess it wasn't some crazy dream after all," she mumbled to herself.
Hearing the person knocking again, she realized she should probably give a response to show that she was awake. Depending on who it was, of course. If it was Lilith, then she wanted to get up right away, but if it was Natalie... She would prefer to avoid the vampire. "I'm up," she said with a yawn. Realizing this meant she would probably have to get up and do something, such as eat breakfast, she got dressed. Once she was finished, she opened the door.

Lilith smiled when Renee opened the door. She was dressed and ready, how convenient for this whole expedition.
“Hello, Renee,” she said, “Are you hungry? I have somewhere I’d like to take you.”
This wasn’t exactly a vacation or a date or anything. Frankly, it was a trip to see if Renee could understand why she needed to cooperate and help Lilith. She started to feel a little guilty about it. She really wanted Natalie and Renee to get along, well enough anyway. She knew that Renee wasn’t going to like Natalie as much as Lilith was, but if they could at least be civil, then it would be goal accomplished.
Well, if Renee could start to understand what Lilith was all about, that would be a good optional objective.

Renee raised an eyebrow at this. Somewhere she'd like to take her? Still, she would not allow herself to get her hopes up... it most likely was not anything even remotely related to what she was thinking. Knowing her luck, she thought, it was probably a trip to have another 'training session' with Natalie. Joy oh joy.
Then again, she'd said 'are you hungry.' Oh, shit - were they planning to turn her into a vampire!? Part of her thought that would be pretty cool, but vampires also had so many weaknesses! All somebody would have to do is get a splinter and they could pretty much kill her. ...She suddenly wished she'd thought of that upon the last encounter she'd had with the lieutenant.
She considered going back and getting a scarf or something, but that would look strange. Besides, people with scarves were too easily strangled. That was not a fate she cared for. So instead, she said, "Sure. Where're we going?"

Lilith sensed a bit of panic coming from Renee. She didn’t really understand why, it was just a nearly harmless trip to Purgatory and an offer for breakfast. They weren’t planning on making her a vampire, she wasn’t dead, it didn’t work like that. On top of the fact that Renee being alive was probably far more powerful than Renee being a vampire.
“Good, hungry then. Breakfast first. I’ll grab you something you can eat on the way,” she said, hurriedly, “I want to take you to Purgatory today.”
It would be very, very warm in Hell. A scarf would simply make Renee uncomfortable, considering they’d already be hot in Purgatory. Lilith took Renee’s hand and led her toward the kitchen. She then quickly gathered a few things and put them in a basket.
“Now we’re ready,” she said, leading Renee by the hand to the stables. Samael was there with the Terasque.

Still not entirely awake, it took Renee's brain a while to fully process the statement. Without really realizing what Lilith had said, she allowed herself to be let to the stable, until she suddenly stopped, exclaiming, "Purgatory!?"
That didn't make any sense! While Renee herself had never cared about religion in the slightest, considering herself a definite atheist, she'd had at least one foster home in which her temporary guardians were very over the top about their religion and insisted she needed to be 'saved' through (Christian) religious education. Therefore, she knew more than she actually cared to about religion, which included Heaven, Hell, and Purgatory. Maybe that's what this was really about... perhaps she really had died - had been murdered in the forest, or eaten by some of the demons, or some weird natural circumstances - and this woman was the one who would lead her to purgatory. But didn't that mean believing in God but screwing up enough that you had to go work off their sins for a while, more or less? She didn't believe in God, so.... Then again, she thought, people were always taking these things he supposedly said out of context or changing their meaning to suit their thoughts. Although with this obvious proof that there was Hell, she was beginning to wonder if perhaps she should believe. Then again, there were still two possibilities besides that. It could be Hell, but that didn't necessarily mean any religion involving Hell was correct. It could also be that the demons she had seen at various points throughout her life were slight hallucinations and now she had snapped for one reason or another. Hm...

“Yes, Renee, Purgatory,” Lilith said gently, “Just to visit, we aren’t going to stay long, it’s rather hot there.”
She could sense Renee’s confusion and indignation, so she subtly told the girl that she wasn’t being brought there because she was dead. She couldn’t be dead or she would be of no use whatsoever. On top of the fact that she’d never been judged. One couldn’t exactly be an atheist here, if the downstairs existed, the upstairs had to as well. It wasn’t just occupied by a Christian’s sense of hell, either. The ‘Christian’ lord of hell simply had a hold and was more ambitious right now than any of the other underworld gods.
Lilith handed the basket to Samael and took both of Renee’s hands, “Are you alright?” she asked, with honest worry in her eyes.

Still having mixed feelings due to the matter of "purgatory," Renee supposed it could not hurt to go see it. She had no idea what the point could possibly be in such a visit, but it was not like she had anything better to do, so she saw no reason not to. Well, other than that it hardly sounded like a pleasant place to be, but she was sure she had seen worse. Really, she'd probably done worse to people herself.
Upon being asked if she was alright, Renee averted her gaze. Because she was not good at reading people, she could not tell what exactly it was she was seeing in Lilith's eyes, but accompanied with that question, it made her feel uncomfortable. In all honesty, the answer probably would have been something along the lines of 'probably,' but that would probably cause Lilith to wonder what she meant by that. Renee had never been much good with feelings, even her own. So instead, she replied, "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

If Renee were dead, Lilith was sure that she wouldn’t be in Purgatory. No, she’d be sitting in the Pride Circle of hell as one of Lucifer’s slaves, possibly to rebuild and repair his fortress.
Lilith had a concerned frown on her face, “You… look pensive, like you’re worried,” she said, not keen on letting on her powers of empathy.
She could ignore the empathetic impulses she had, but it was difficult. She felt honestly horrible when someone felt horrible and she felt happy when others were happy, so she wanted everyone around her to feel happy, not horrible, obviously.
“If you’re sure,” she said, kind of sadly.
She put her foot in the saddle and hoisted herself up to the large saddle on the top. She offered her hand to Renee, hoping that she’d take it. That would be some progress with the head strong girl.

Renee looked at Lilith's hand for a moment. Still tired, it took her a moment to realize what exactly it was for. She found herself stretching her hand out, just for a moment, before realizing what she was doing and insisting, "I'm just fine; I can get on on my own." It was a bit more difficult, but she got on the creature by herself.
Remembering Lilith's earlier expression, she nearly started to say something, but then stopped. She had never, ever felt the need to tell somebody about her feelings (because clearly killing an innocent person she happened to take a disliking to was a much better solution in her eyes), so she hadn't. She did not understand why she would suddenly be willing to change that. She didn't need anyone's help; she had seen people who depended on others before, and it never ended well. Therefore, her goal was to be completely independent.
