Natalie frowned when Dago asked her if she was okay. She hated showing her emotions. Hate hate hated it. She had to be strong, be a leader, and leaders weren't weak. Not good ones. And she had to be a good leader and do a good job because Lilith had sacrificed so much to put her in that position and now Natalie didn't even know where Lilith was.
She took a deep breath and looked back up at Dago. "Mammon and I. . Have a history," she said quietly, trying to control her voice. Trying to keep it from breaking.
Normally, she would have been able to handle all of this, what had happened. But Lilith was imprisoned and all these pride demons had died and Leviathan was going to go tell Lilith what a horrible job she was doing and Natalie felt like Atlas, like she had the celestial sphere on her back.

Natalie tended to be completely icy, which is what tipped Dago off that something was wrong. He grimaced when she said she had a history with Mammon; sounded familiar. Maybe this was some sick pastime for the Lords of Sin; considering all of the ‘furniture’ Natalie set free… He had a hunch that it was different for people like Natalie and Marian, though. The way the Lords of Sin chased them said they were more important than living decorations.
He glanced over at the few pride demons left who were cleaning up bodies and patching up the throne room. Neither one of them were really needed in here. Now to suggest it in such a way where he didn’t make it worse…
“You don’t have to stay here, I can keep everything moving, if you want,” he said with a shrug, “Take a break while you can, I don’t know.”

Natalie sighed. "I think I'll do that," she said. "Pick up the place. I can't have my castle looking like Dresden in 1945. My, my, what would the other Lords of Sins say?" She twisted her face into a grimace and stated the last sentence with an almost facetious tone to her voice. She turned to leave, but after a few steps looked back at Dago.
". . Thank you," she finally said, before turning back around and exiting. Well, Dago wasn't as bad as her original impression of him had been, she thought. Still, though, she knew better than to get close to someone. Getting close to someone never ended well. You couldn't ever trust people, they would just turn around and stab you in the back.
If she'd learned anything during her short time alive, it was that. The Order had been very, very different back then than it had been while Dago was alive.
