Lillith sneered at Cain as he left, “I’m lots of fun, just not to nearly immortal self-serving pricks,” she muttered.
She didn’t like people trying to pry inside of her feelings, it wasn’t polite and she didn’t rather like feeling like a piece of glass. She wasn’t vulnerable, but this man was about the only thing that’d have every thing in this universe stepping aside. She had no clue why he was protected like that, it didn’t quite make sense to her. Why not make him immortal, but feel lots of pain, with no repercussions?
She allowed the girl break away from her. Lillith gazed into the eyes of the girl, seeing something dark in her. She didn’t immediately ask Lillith any questions, or say anything. Strange. Most people would have freaked out instead of tear away like a child insisting they were independent enough.
“What are you doing here, Renee?” she asked her, approaching her once again.

Actually, Renee would like to know the answer to that herself. "I have no idea," she replied honestly. She was rather surprised at herself, in a way - usually, she would reply with something more along the lines of, 'being here' instead of answering the question.
She realized that she didn't know the woman's name. Not that it should matter. She was just curious, of course. Besides, then she could better tell the woman that she did NOT, in fact, need to be protected. Besides, she had told her name, so she saw no reason she shouldn't know. "What's your name?" she asked in the most nonchalant way she could. Something about the way this woman spoke was so formal. She wasn't sure whether she should force herself to speak in such a polite manner, or whether to sort of balance it by being even more informal. Instead, she ended up opting to speak normally.

Lillith smiled at the girl, she seems to have wandered here. She didn’t look dead, most people who were dead had to be judged, so they would remember that.
“My name is Lillith,” she said with shining eyes.
Her face suddenly turned to a sad frown, “I hate to be the bearer of your bad news, but you are in the underworld. Hell, to many. I don’t believe you are dead, and I truly have no idea how you got here, but if you would like somewhere to stay, you are more than welcome to come with me.”
Lillith approached the Terrasque and Samael swooped down to help her upon its saddle. She adjusted herself and her long flowing hair to sit upon the beast comfortably. She offered her hand to Renee to help her onto the Terrasque as well.
“This place is dangerous and I know you are a strong woman,” she said, quickly qualifying her statement, “But I would love for you to come with me.”

"That's..." Renee stopped, realizing she was about to say something rather uncharacteristic of herself, "It's a cool name," she substituted lamely. She mentally shook her head, wondering why she was acting so stupid all of a sudden.
"Hell?" she repeated, raising an eyebrow. True, the scenery did bring that to mind, but... Well, she had no reason not to accept that. She knew it was where the demons she spoke to lived, but she really didn't know how she got there. She certainly wasn't complaining, though. Renee wished she could offer an explanation, for whatever reason, but she was just as at a loss for one as Lillith was.
She was about to object, to tell her that she was sure she'd be fine on her own, but when the last sentence made her forget what she was about to say. She would have refused, but she somehow ended up taking Lillith's hand and getting on the Terrasque. She wasn't entirely sure how that had happened.

Lillith smiled at Renee, “Thank you.”
She felt rather out of the loop, she had no idea what ‘cool’ meant anymore. She made a point to surface more often than she had been. She pulled Renee up behind her onto the saddle on the Terrasque, she patted one great long ivory horn on his and suddenly he jerked forward. Samael disappeared in a flurry of black feathers and suddenly a magpie swooped down to land on Lillith’s shoulder.
“I know it seems hard to believe,” continued Lillith, “But this is indeed Hell. Did you die?”
Dead souls mostly looked very different than Renee looked right now, so Lillith found herself doubting that Renee was dead, but why else would she be here? It wasn’t often that mortals decided to cross over through the mouth of Hell on purpose. This girl could serve Lillith’s purposes, if she were willing. She wasn’t the ultimatum type of person. She would either help or not, that was up to her.
The Terrasque moved forward at a quick, but steady pace, Renee would have to hold onto Lillith if she didn’t want to fall off.

Renee found herself looking, nearly staring at Lilith's smile, and quickly looked away. She really had to wonder what had gotten into her - maybe she was just feeling strange because she was suddenly in Hell and she was used to being in Earth. It could be a side effect; you never know.
She was a little startled at the quick pace at which the creature moved, but she tried to act as though it didn't matter to her in the slightest. It didn't take her long to realize she was going to have to hold onto something if she didn't want to fall off (which she certainly didn't). She looked to see if there was something a little less... awkward was the best word she could think of to describe it, but saw nothing. Trying to act as though there was nothing awkward about it and it didn't bother her at all, she held onto Lillith, around her waist. It was-- She stopped her thoughts there. What was going on with her?!
She was pretty sure she wasn't dead... "I don't remember dying. I'm pretty sure I would remember that" It wasn't as though she had any memory loss, either. She remembered everything that had happened - running away, killing that guy and taking his money, taking a nap, and waking up here.

Lillith felt Renee’s arms around her small waist. She smiled a bit, feeling the burgeoning attraction the girl had for this denizen of Hell. That was the benefit of being empathetic, emotion betrayed words. She knew the girl wanted to come with her, regardless of how she put on a strong face. She’d take good care of this woman; she had to, if she wanted her way.
“I don’t think you died if you don’t remember how,” Lillith reasoned, “Most souls come here with their last memories, it’s very, very rare not to know. Is it possible you were still alive? What do you remember before you came here?”
The Terrasque was making his long lumbering way to a small medieval looking castle that invoked images of princesses and knights on white horses. There was a large garden in front of the castle, there were many couples of all types of love dancing in the flowers, like they didn’t have a care in the world. Lillith looked on them kindly as she passed, many stopped to wave at her and the Terrasque.

Renee had no trouble remembering that. "I ran away from the place I lived," she refused to call it home. Also, she couldn't help but to think of it more as a statement of independence than anything else. "Then..." Maybe the next part could be left out. She didn't particularly want to get arrested...well, this was Hell, but still, she had always kept these things secret, and had no intentions of ever changing that. "Anyway, I was sort of tired, and a Hell Cat told me of a kinda hidden place, so I took a nap. Except, I woke up in Hell, apparently, instead of that forest." Wow. She wondered if Lillith would even believe her - the story, although it really was the truth (surprisingly) sounded doubtful at best.
She couldn't help but to wonder what such a castle was doing in Hell of all places. She still hadn't ruled out the possibility that Lillith was crazy and she was still on Earth, but a castle would be out of place on Earth, too. She felt herself becoming angry at the obnoxious, overly happy dancers. She hated people like that. So happy all the time - were they really so stupid and oblivious?

Lillith listened to Renee’s story as she spoke, trying to listen to the emotion behind it rather than what she was truly saying. She had a feeling of secrecy and possibly a tiny bit of fear or worry. That meant she was leaving something out, or lying. There was a slight bit of feeling of abandonment coupled with a strong sense of sovereignty. Lillith could see herself liking this girl, she was complicated.
“If you have no place to go, I’d love for you to stay here with me,” she said, turning back to look at Renee with serious eyes.
She sensed that Renee was feeling contempt for the happy couples in her court. She couldn’t help but feel sad for that, so she spoke up about it.
“Don’t hate them… they’re all suffering every day for their ‘sins.’ They try to find happiness when they can,” she said with a sad tone.

Renee frowned in suspicion. In her experience, people wanting her to stay with them generally wanted something. Usually it was something along the lines of, "Look what nice people we are... we're fostering this poor girl whose parents died." Either way, they didn't care much for her. She wasn't much good with figuring people out most of the time, either, so she couldn't really tell Lillith's intentions. Still, for some reason, she didn't want to refuse. In all truth, it wasn't as though she had someplace to stay... but that didn't really bother her. "...Alright," she replied, trying to make her tone imply, 'if you really want me to, I guess I COULD.' It would have fooled many people, but she was unaware how good at reading people Lillith was.
She watched the couples. "They sure don't look like they're suffering." In fact, they looked quite happy. Anyway, that whole lovey-dovey thing was a stupid, ridiculous illusion, she thought to herself. She had always thought it ridiculous - people deluding themselves into believing in something. Usually, no more than 20 years late, they'd decide they weren't in love anymore and would delude themselves with somebody else. Only a miracle could make her believe in love, it seemed... but perhaps there was now one who could. Renee may have blamed it on lust, but others might say otherwise.
