Lillith sensed the wave of suspicion and turned to her as the Terasque halted to a stop. She examined Renee’s face with a look of sadness.
“You don’t trust me, yet,” she stated, not really surprised.
She wondered how this girl came to be so cynical. She was very young by human standards and terribly young by Lillith’s standards. Weren’t young people supposed to be happy and in love? That’s what she found so charming about them. She didn’t mind that this girl was so mistrusting, she took it as a challenge.
The raven on Lillith’s shoulder morphed into Samael again and he helped his lady off the Terasque. Lillith looked up at Renee from the ground, holding a hand out to her to help her down. It was a long way to jump without some reassurance.
“They are only allowed to be here an hour out of the day, then they go back to where they’re told in Hell, to be punished,” she explained, “They try to forget while they’re here. They’ll be leaving soon, don’t worry.”

Renee looked at Lillith's expression, realizing that it was her fault. Normally she enjoyed causing that sort of thing, but for some reason, she didn't want that for Lillith, and for the first time ever, she almost felt as though she should apologize. She didn't actually apologize, though - she refused to say those words. "I just met you like twenty minutes ago," she reminded her. She had no reason that she should trust her... no, that wasn't entirely true. She certainly had no reason to not trust her, but it took a long time to get Renee to trust someone. So far, no one had succeeded, although she had never wanted to let them. She wasn't sure she wanted Lillith to, either.
She was about to jump off on her own anyway, but ended up deciding to accept Lillith's hand. It wasn't like she needed the help or anything; she was just letting her help because it was more convenient that way. That was totally it, she insisted.
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Empathy was never her strong suit. Or caring about people other than herself at all, for that matter. If they didn't want to be punished, they shouldn't do things they shouldn't. Besides, punishing (or randomly torturing... you know) was be fun.

Lillith could feel Renee felt bad. She didn’t understand why for a moment; until she listened closer to her emotions. There was repression and a tad bit of confusion.
“Yes, you’re right,” Lillith admitted, turning away with her sad eyes.
She tried to do a lot of good here, as much as she could. She held onto Renee’s hand and guided her toward her castle. It was lovely and white with a drawbridge and moat. It looked like every little girl’s fantasy. They entered the castle, leaving the Terasque and Samael. They passed great halls and lots of tapestries and paintings.
The ended up in Lillith’s boudoir. It had a large four poster bed with a canopy and curtains that were open right now and two large stained glass windows with pictures of a broken heart and a whole heart. It looked very girly, to be honest, without a single dab of pink.
“Would you like a bath? We can eat afterwards if you are hungry,” she offered.

Renee wondered if she was making things worse. Then, she decided not to dwell on it. It didn't much matter... it shouldn't matter, she insisted. Lilith was really little more than some random person and if she was unhappy, it was probably her own fault. Normally she had no problem with that, but for some reason, she had trouble believing that about this woman.
She surveyed the castle, still thinking it looked out of place. She noticed the way Lillith continued to hold her hand. She wasn't really sure how she felt about that. Anyone else and her first impulse would probably be to jerk away her hand, possibly punch them, and to yell at them, asking them what they thought they were doing. For reasons unknown to her, she didn't. The windows interested her, but she hated the canopy bed. Actually, she hated all canopy beds. She scowled at it, but said nothing. She had learned that it's best to be at least somewhat polite in another's home.
She was about to say no, she was fine, but then remembered she had been sleeping on the ground. On second thought, she decided, maybe it would be wise to accept. "Sure."

Lilith smiled at Renee again. She ushered her into a large bathroom with a footed tub. The whole feel of the bathroom gave an aura of decadence. Lilith turned the handles on the tub and warm water began to pour out.
“There you are,” she said, “I can have your clothing washed if you want. Once you are done, go to the closet and it will give you whatever clothes you want in your size.”
There was a big advantage of being the lover of the Lord of Hell. He was a doting lover and so Lilith had many things that were very fancy. She rather preferred not to have them, but her guests liked them quite a lot, so she let them use them more often.
She walked out of the bathroom and shut the door, leaving Renee with her thoughts and a bath that was still running.

Renee watched Lilith until she left, leaving her alone. She waited for the bath to finish running and checked to make sure it was going to be the right temperature. It was really not very pleasant when she got in and it was either scalding hot or ice cold.
While she was bathing, she remembered what Lilith had said. Any clothes she wanted, in her size? What the hell? How would that even work? She was curious to see this. Part of her almost wanted to decide she 'wanted' something completely absurd, but she wondered if she would actually have to wear it if she did. Really, she didn't care much about clothes. She usually just wore a random T-shirt and jeans; whatever happened to be in her closet. She'd had at least one foster family that had decided that, since she was a girl, she should have only frilly, adorable clothes to wear. They hadn't lived very long.
Thinking about Lilith... No, she changed her mind on that one. It may have been a good time to try and figure out what the hell was going on, but thinking about Lilith while she was taking a bath felt wrong, somehow. She rolled her eyes; that was never something she had cared about before. Of course, before, 'thinking about' someone was usually thinking about the most interesting and inconspicuous way to kill them...
Renee was never one to take a long time with that sort of thing, so she finished pretty quickly. She grabbed a towel and quickly dried off, then wrapped it around her body while she stared at the closet. Figuring she might as well try it, she opened the closet and found a pair of jeans and a plain black shirt hanging there. She tried them on and, sure enough, they fit.

Lilith waited for Renee to finish her bath and to dress before she appeared again.
“There you are, much better, right?” she said with a smile, “Now, we have a dinner ready, as well.”
She was rushing things, but she wanted to speak with the girl and frankly the bath wasn’t the place to talk of the things Lilith wanted to talk about. She got the distinct feeling that Renee was the exact type of girl that would suit her needs and she wanted to get to know her better with no distractions. She didn’t want the girl to think she was using her either. She wanted to work with her, not use her. It was in her best interest to keep Renee happy.
She led her down to a dining room that was small and cozy with several places sat. Lilith sat down at the side, not the front and gestured for Renee to do the same.

Renee almost wanted to smile back at Lilith, which seemed very bizarre to her. She rarely smiled, and when she did... unless she was trying to fake someone out, it usually was not a good sign for the people around her. That wasn't the sort of smile she wanted to have, though. It was more like... a real smile, from being happy.
She followed Lilith to the dining room and sat where Lilith gestured. She looked at Lilith, then away, suddenly feeling awkward. Normally she wouldn't be bothered by it, but for whatever reason, she felt like she should say something, or something. What could she talk about, though? If she was to be honest, she would ask why the woman was being so nice to her. Renee couldn't think of a single reason she would. She could make it sound a little less...vulnerable by simply asking what she wanted (she clearly must want something - why else would she be so kind to some random girl she just met?). Maybe she would do that...

Just as Renee sat down, dinner was served. Several platters came floating out of another room and gently sat themselves down on the table. Lilith began to take the covers off of the platters, revealing several types of decadent food. Lilith began to serve a few things onto her plate and Renee’s; not bothering to ask if she liked them or not. They were all warm and smelled very good. Once she finished, Lilith sat down and grabbed her fork. She hesitated for a moment, trying to think if she wanted to say something or not.
“I’m… sure you’re wondering why I brought you here,” she began, “I’m sure you’re wondering what I want with you.”
Lilith speared an piece of food with her fork and ate it, carefully chewing both her food and her words before she said them.
“I believe you have certain talents that might be useful,” she said, honestly, “I don’t think you need my help, but I’d really like yours.”

Renee watched as Lilith put some food onto her plate. She didn't say anything. Not one to be a picky eater, she was fine with whatever. It didn't smell bad, so she assumed it probably wouldn't taste bad. When Lilith began to eat, Renee followed in suit, not wanting to seem awkward.
Right. Here it was... Renee had seen it coming. She only barely felt disappointed, and that was only because, for some reason, she had almost let herself be fooled by the woman's behavior. She should have remembered that the nicer the person is to you, chances are, the more they want from you. She nodded. "What do you want?" It wasn't like she had anything else to do, and she was really curious how she could have possibly ended up in Hell from the forest. Of course, she still hadn't entirely ruled out the possibility that she was dreaming...
