Selene was pacing in the kitchen. She was starving and couldn’t fathom why. She’d already eaten enough where her stomach felt like it might burst, but she still had that starving feeling. She’d been getting dizzy lately and found herself in places she didn’t remember going to. All she really could recall was that she had been constantly fixing the portal machines for about two weeks and that she was starving.
Her stomach rumbled as she searched through the cabinets in the kitchen. This was horrible, she thought. She’d never been this hungry in her life, but her stomach was already stretching… It had been a lot of effort to even come up here to the kitchen, she was so full.
She stared at a few plates, thinking about how tasty ceramic would taste right now… She didn’t realize it was strange to eat plates, just that she was so hungry.

Madeleine Basset wandered into the kitchen of the Library. She'd been hungry. Sitting in one's room drafting and losing track of time tended to make one hungry, after all. Her new powers were amazing; control of metal was such a useful power for building! She wasn't so much into building mad inventions as Selene was, but things that were, in her mind, more practical.
Like freeze rays. Maybe they were as mad as Selene's. Still, though, hers were definitely cooler.
Speak of the devil and she shall appear! There was Selene, right in the kitchen as well. Oh, great. Her one-sided nemesis. "Hi, Selene," Madeleine said, in an attempt to be civil. She tried to be nice and polite to the other scientist- After all, openly disliking her wouldn't really look good to anyone and Madeleine really didn't want to be lectured by Marian or something. She didn't realize how bad mage rivalry could get, nor did she know what Marian knew about it. All she knew was that she had to be better than Selene.

Selene gripped the edge of the cabinet when Madeleine appeared in the kitchen. Her scent was immediately obvious to Selene and she smelled… tasty. Selene shook her head, trying to shake off the hunger. The desire for cannibalism wasn’t immediately taboo to her in this state.
“Madeleine,” Selene greeted, likely using up the last drops of her sense.
Even if Madeleine had openly shown her dislike for Selene, she wouldn’t have noticed. It might have made it easier for Selene to want to eat her, but right now she was fighting off the hunger with willpower, not by chewing on a fellow mage.
Selene started to feel dizzy and stumbled backwards into Madeleine. She pressed her fingers to her eyebrows and tried not to pass out, but it was too late. Selene fell forward on the floor with a thud. Her hunger had taken over now and Selene wouldn’t remember a thing.

Madeleine didn't really notice how Selene was acting weird. She was trying to avoid Selene, so her strange behavior wasn't that big of a deal. Even if Madeleine had noticed, she would have simply assumed Selene was experimenting on herself or something else ridiculous like that. It made the most sense, after all, to her. She didn't think of anything absolutely horrible like flies.
She was walking over to the refrigerator when she heard a thunk on the ground. She wheeled around and saw Selene on the ground, and frowned. Well, Selene was her rival and all, but if she died then Madeleine wouldn't have the satisfaction of Selene knowing her experiment had failed! She walked over the Selene's body and crouched down. "Are you okay?" she asked, blinking. Maybe she'd passed out? Oh, maybe she had gotten a concussion!
Madeleine felt bad for wishing that stuff on someone, but she really didn't like Selene.

Selene’s eyes fluttered open and she pushed herself off of the ground. She blinked a couple of times at Madeleine as she spoke. She didn’t seem to understand what she was saying, but her mouth was watering. She smelled delicious. One little bite wouldn’t hurt, right? Just one bite and then the whole meal…
Selene lunged forward, aiming to bite Madeleine’s shoulder. She did her best to knock the woman over and straddled her waist. Selene started to tear at her clothes, trying to get to Madeleine’s skin.
It might appear that she was trying to seduce Madeleine in the most heavy-handed way, but it was quickly obvious that wasn’t the case. Selene bit and tore with a wild frenzy comparable to a hyena or a lion. The demon inside of her was starved and it wasn’t about to let her go without a very good meal, regardless of the consequences.

"Ciarge!" Madeleine hissed as she was tackled. She had no idea what the hell Selene was trying to do to her, but she attempted to push and kick the other mage away. She was tearing at Madeleine's clothing and trying to bite her, and Madeleine couldn't tell if Selene was trying to eat her or rape her or both.
It seemed more like eating, though. Like wolves eating an injured deer. Oh god, Madeleine was not an injured deer.
She focused her will onto the fridge and it went flying at Selene in an attempt to knock her both out and off of Madeleine. Hopefully Selene would get an actual concussion this time. If she ended up being knocked out, then Madeleine would have to take her to Marian's office to get her looked at or something. This was really creepy, and Madeleine wondered if Selene had somehow acquired rabies or something.

Selene gripped Madeleine’s shirt as the fridge rammed into her. She flew off of her, but not before she left Maddy’s shirt in ribbons. She slammed into the cabinets and made a woozy attempt to get back up. She scrambled to her knees and tried to crawl back over to Madeleine, who still smelled like a great meal.
Before she could get anywhere close to her, Selene stumbled and fell on her stomach. She had been disoriented for a moment, but was now completely out. The demon inhabiting her head wasn’t sure what was going on, so it decided to sit and wait until it found out. That might not have been the best decision for it right now, but it only had a vague idea of where it was. It likely wouldn’t have flown into the ear of a mage, if it knew. All it knew was that Selene’s head was particularly comfortable and easily accessible.

Madeleine sat up, panting, and mourned the loss of her shirt. This was so weird. Well, at least she wore a bra; that meant she didn't have to run around the Library completely topless. She looked over at Selene's body, frowning. Well, she had passed out, which meant that Madeleine had to go and take her to Marian's office. Madeleine couldn't just let her stay here and attack someone else when she woke up. Well, she could, but that wasn't a good idea.
Still, though, what if she woke up while Madeleine was carrying her? Hmm.
Madeleine got up and pulled out all of the utensils in the utensil shelf, and she focused her will on them to mesh them together and turn them into wire. She then used that wire to bind Selene's arms, wrists, legs, and ankles, making it as hard to get out of as she could so that if Selene did wake up, then Madeleine would be kind of safe.
With that, she picked Selene up, threw her over her shoulder, and walked off to Marian's office. When she got there, she knocked on the door, and when Marian told her to come in, she walked in.
Marian was sitting at his desk, as always, and he looked at her strangely. What the hell was Madeleine doing here shirtless with Selene's tied-up body thrown over her shoulder? "What happened?" he asked sternly, frowning at Madeleine with his serious face.
"She tried to eat me. ." Madeleine explained weakly.

Dago stepped out from Marian’s room to hear what Madeleine had said. He didn’t know Madeleine, but it seemed pretty clear to him what she was talking about. He burst into a sudden coughing fit, trying to cover up his laughter. That really didn’t sound like something she should be spreading around!
Back when he was alive, playing the flirting game with Selene was a bit dangerous, considering her reputation as a mad scientist. He always had a suspicion about her, but never saw evidence.
Dago bit down on his tongue hard and moved to help Madeleine with Selene’s body. Selene took this moment to wake up and tried to bite Maddy again, making ungodly screeching noises. It was clear she was injured, but she was panicking like a wounded animal. Dago cringed for a second, before taking initiative and hauling Selene off of Madeleine’s shoulder. Wrong kind of eating her, he guessed. He quickly moved her to the sofa before she could try to take a chunk out of him.
Selene did her best to fight against the wire bonds that Madeleine put around her. Thankfully, they seemed to be holding tight.

Marian shot Dago a look when he began laughing, although he did have to admit it looked kind of suspicious, and he supposed he could see why Dago would find it hilarious. Still, though, Dago didn't know about how susceptible the Moreau family was to possession- And that was what Marian was sure had happened. After all, if she was trying to eat people, she may have been possessed by an Insect of Possession. Beelzebub was back now, as Marian very well knew- After all, it was his fault.
God dammit, he knew that would end up blowing up in his face somehow.
Marian stood up and walked over to the couch. He folded his arms and frowned, before turning to Madeleine. "What happened, exactly?" he asked her.
Madeleine, luckily, remembered what had happened as it wasn't too long ago, but she was still in a state of shock. "Well, I went into the kitchen to get something to eat, and Selene was in there. I said hello to her and she answered, and then she fell down. I walked over to see if she was alright, but then she jumped on me and began trying to tear my clothes off and eat me. ."
Marian nodded and adjusted his glasses. Well, that definitely didn't seem like Selene. "You're dismissed," he said to Madeleine, who nodded and left the office. "Dago, could you get Mischa for me?"
